Job summary

West Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Control Systems Engineer in Sydney's Western Suburbs. You will manage OT systems across large infrastructure assets and lead external vendors through system upgrades and security reviews.

The role focuses on coordinating with the technology team and operational stakeholders, ensuring reliability, performance and cyber security while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• You will hold a tertiary qualification in Electrical / Electronic, Mechatronic engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Will have tangible experience working as a Senior Control Systems Engineer.
• You are proven at successfully managing a range of internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to bring people together to achieve a set goal.
• You can demonstrate skills across networks, virtualisation platforms, hardware, application software & cybersecurity.
• You bring extensive experience in the management of industrial control systems including SCADA / OMCS & PLC's.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the OT tech stack, which includes ensuring the reliability, performance and security of systems.
• Oversee the selection, design and implementation of OT systems in line with business requirements.
• Provide Project Management skills and leadership for system upgrades & new product implementations.
• Partner with the Cyber Security Lead to regularly perform security assessments and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
• Lead regular Continuous Improvement reviews which incorporates a review of processes and policies.
• Build strong working relationships and clear lines of communication with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

About Your New Role

Reporting to the Group Technology Officer, this role is critical in the effective management and maintenance of OT systems for multiple, large infrastructure assets. As the Senior Control Systems Engineer, you are the interface between the technology team, external vendors and key operational stakeholders.

Other key tasks aligned to this role include:

• Ownership of the OT tech stack, which includes ensuring the reliability, performance and security of systems.
