Job summary

West Technology is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to manage and maintain OT systems across multiple large infrastructure assets. You will act as the interface between the technology team, external vendors and key operational stakeholders.

The role centers on organizing and leading work through an external vendor portfolio, not on-the-tools engineering, with a focus on reliability, security and continuous improvement across the OT stack.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic engineering, CS or similar.
• Proven experience as a Senior Control Systems Engineer.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across internal and external teams.
• Skills across networks, virtualization platforms, hardware, application software & cybersecurity.
• Extensive experience in the management of industrial control systems including SCADA / OMCS & PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Own the OT tech stack, ensuring reliability, performance and security of systems.
• Oversee the selection, design and implementation of OT systems in line with business requirements.
• Provide Project Management leadership for system upgrades & new product implementations.
• Partner with the Cyber Security Lead to perform security assessments and identify vulnerabilities.
• Lead Continuous Improvement reviews of processes and policies.
• Build strong relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

About Your New Role

Reporting to the Group Technology Officer, this role is critical in the effective management and maintenance of OT systems for multiple, large infrastructure assets.

As the Senior Control Systems Engineer, you are the interface between the technology team, external vendors and key operational stakeholders.

Other Key Tasks Aligned To This Role Include

• Ownership of the OT tech stack, which includes ensuring the reliability, performance and security of systems.
• Oversee the selection, design and implementation of OT systems in line with business requirements.
• Provide Project Management skills and leadership for system upgrades & new product implementations.
• Partner with the Cyber Security Lead to regularly perform security assessments and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
• Lead regular Continuous Improvement reviews which incorporates a review of processes and policies.
• Build strong working relationships and clear lines of communication with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

About You!

This is a role that will utilise your skills and expertise, however this role is not expecting you to be 'on the tools', rather you will organise and lead the work through your portfolio of external vendors.

The Key Attributes To Your Profile Will Include

• You will hold a tertiary qualification in Electrical / Electronic, Mechatronic engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Will have tangible experience working as a Senior Control Systems Engineer.
• You are proven at successfully managing a range of internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to bring people together to achieve a set goal.
• You can demonstrate skills across networks, virtualisation platforms, hardware, application software & cybersecurity.
• You bring extensive experience in the management of industrial control systems including SCADA / OMCS & PLC’s.
