Unknown Company, based in Brisbane, is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end automation on major mining projects. You will design, program and validate PLC/SCADA/HMI solutions across Rockwell, Schneider and Ignition platforms, delivering from concept to onsite handover.

The role requires 7+ years in control systems engineering within mining or heavy industry, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Control Systems Engineering, ideally in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong PLC, SCADA and HMI design, development and programming skills.
• Experience delivering projects from FDS through FAT, SAT and commissioning.
• Experience with Rockwell, Schneider and/or Ignition technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and independent-working abilities.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and detailed design through to programming, testing, site commissioning and operational handover.

You'll have the opportunity to work with modern automation platforms, including:

• Rockwell Automation – ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk
• Schneider Electric – Modicon PLCs, EcoStruxure and Citect/AVEVA
• Ignition SCADA – Modern, scalable industrial automation and visualisation solutions

You'll work across a variety of substantial mining and mineral processing projects, collaborating with experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years' experience in Control Systems Engineering, ideally within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
• Strong experience in PLC, SCADA and HMI design, development and programming.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects from functional design and detailed engineering through to FAT, SAT and site commissioning.
• Experience with Rockwell, Schneider and/or Ignition technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative engineering environment.
• An Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related engineering qualification.

Experience across multiple automation platforms and large-scale resources projects will be highly regarded.
