Job summary

Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure in Western Australia is seeking a Principal Contracts Officer to join the Central Contracting Team in Finance and Procurement Services. You will oversee complex contracts, tendering and procurement activities, shaping outcomes for the public sector.

You will provide specialist advice, mentor Contracts Officers, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure rigorous procurement practices while supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in complex contracts, tendering and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of supply policies, public sector procurement practices and risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor Contracts Officers and lead teams.
• High attention to detail and integrity under pressure.

• Support tender documentation, evaluation and contract performance.
