Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment in Canberra is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support a tier 2 construction company delivering major commercial projects in the ACT region. The role offers flexible work options and a collaborative Commercial Team.

You will develop major contracts with clients and project teams, mentor junior staff, and lead procurement and cost management activities to support project cash flow and monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a main contractor environment.
• Proven ability to work on project-based contracts and financial administration.
• Ability to work independently to resolve contractual issues.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Client and Project Team to achieve project outcomes.
• Mentor and coach Commercial Team.
• Lead project procurement strategy and procurement processes.
• Lead project Cost Management including variations for Head & Subcontract.
• Manage Head Contract and Subcontractor progress claims.
• Manage cash flow at Head & Subcontract.
• Prepare and present Monthly Financial reports.

This is a great opportunity to utilise your expertise in the development of major contracts in collaboration with clients and project teams as well as take a lead in mentoring more junior Contracts Administrators to develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the Client and Project Team to achieve project outcomes
• Mentor and coach Commercial Team
• Lead the project procurement strategy & procurement processes
• Lead project Cost Management inclusive of both Head & Subcontract Variation management
• Manage Head Contract and Subcontractor Progress claim/s
• Manage cash flow at both Head & Subcontract
• Preparation and presentation of Monthly Financial reports

About you:

• Demonstrated experience within a main contractor environment
• Proven experience working in a similar project-based contract and financial administration on other major building developments.
• Additionally, you will be proficient across contract management and have the ability to work independently to resolve contractual issues
