Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate Director - Contract Administrator to join our Construction Management and Contract Administration team in Queensland. You will lead the administration and delivery of major road and transport contracts, providing senior contractual leadership and coordinating with government clients, contractors and specialists to ensure safety, value and quality.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
• RPEQ registration.
• Extensive experience (20+ years) in the contract administration and delivery of major road infrastructure projects.
• Significant experience acting as a Contract Administrator, Superintendent, Administrator’s Representative or Principal’s Representative.
• Strong experience administering complex road infrastructure construction contracts, ideally including TIC-CO, D&C, CPA, Alliance or equivalent contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of contract administration, including variations, claims, extensions of time, payment claims, contractual notices, disputes and contractor performance.
• A strong understanding of civil construction and infrastructure delivery, including roads, bridges, pavements, earthworks, drainage and associated infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Transport and Main Roads policies, standards, specifications and contract procedures

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration and delivery of major, high-value road and transport infrastructure contracts, ensuring projects achieve time, cost, quality, safety and contractual objectives.
• Undertake the role of Superintendent, Contract Administrator, Administrator’s Representative or Principal’s Representative.
• Provide senior contractual and commercial leadership across the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation and construction through to completion and close-out.
• Manage and administer complex construction contracts in accordance with contractual requirements, policies and relevant legislation.
• Provide expert advice to clients and project leadership on contractual, commercial, technical, operational and risk matters.
• Lead the assessment and management of variations, claims, extensions of time, payment claims, contractual notices and other commercial matters.
• Lead the resolution of complex contractual and project issues, using judgement and commercial awareness to achieve positive outcomes.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technical specialists, project professionals and external advisors.
• Provide leadership across technical, quality, safety and construction matters and governance.
• Monitor project expenditure, contract payments, forecasts, cash flow and emerging commercial risks.
• Prepare high-quality reports and briefing papers for senior client and government stakeholders.
