Job summary

Redpath Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of a major large-scale commercial project in Sydney. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires 6+ years in commercial construction, a tertiary degree in Construction Management or related field, and strong procurement, contract administration and financial management skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial construction experience, ideally with a head contractor.
• Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration and project finances.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full contract administration process across the project.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontractor packages and agreements.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor engagement and commercial negotiations.
• Prepare and assess variations, progress claims, EOTs and other contractual matters.
• Maintain subcontractor relationships and resolve commercial issues.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and report to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and site team to achieve commercial outcomes.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and contractual records.

Redpath is currently partnered with a reputable Tier 2 head contractor who is seeking an experienced Senor Contract Administrator to assist with the delivery of large-scale commercial projects.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the commercial and contractual aspects of a major project, working closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Senior CA you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual requirements of the project from procurement through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered commercially and financially, while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the full contract administration process across the project
• Preparing, reviewing and negotiating subcontractor packages and agreements
• Managing procurement, subcontractor engagement and commercial negotiations
• Preparing and assessing variations, progress claims, EOTs and other contractual matters
• Managing subcontractor relationships and resolving commercial issues
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance
• Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks
• Working closely with the Project Manager and site team to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and contractual records
• Providing commercial advice and reporting to senior project leadership
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project from a commercial and contractual perspective

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 6+ years' commercial construction experience, ideally with a head contractor
• A tertiary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Building, Construction or equivalent
• Experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects
• Strong experience across procurement, contract administration and project financial management
• Proven capability managing variations, claims, EOTs and subcontractor relationships
• A sound understanding of construction contracts, commercial risk and project controls
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple commercial priorities
• Experience using CHEOPS, Aconex or similar construction software
