Job summary

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) is seeking a Lead Content Designer to craft written digital content for Workforce Australia. You will design, review and update content across web and notification channels, working in a virtual team from offices in Australia’s major cities on a hybrid basis.

You’ll apply UX writing, web writing and policy style guidelines, collaborating with stakeholders to improve user experience for millions of Australians seeking work and training

Qualifications

• Experience in writing, editing and maintaining complex content for user needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to apply Australian Government style guides (WCAG 2.1, Government Style Manual).
• Experience advising management and senior executives on content design.
• Proven track record as a professional web writer/content designer for websites.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and write content meeting user needs and clarity.
• Apply style guides, content patterns and policies.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Use evidence and data to improve content and UX.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an agile environment using Azure DevOps.
• Prepare documents, presentations and talking points; mentor junior staff.
• Lead multiple content projects; track progress and manage risks.
