Job summary

Wood Plc is seeking a dynamic Construction Manager for the Surat Basin in western Queensland. You will oversee construction and commissioning strategy, safety performance, planning, schedule, cost and field delivery, reporting to the Project Delivery Manager.

You will coordinate client subcontractors and third-party service providers, align field teams with Wood policies, and drive continuous improvement while delivering against contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in construction management/supervision in oil and gas.
• Proven leadership with mentoring and coaching qualities.
• Experience managing office, site construction, and commissioning teams.
• Experience managing client and Wood 3rd party contractors, including productivity, safety & quality outputs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to delegate and develop the team to improve productivity and integration.
• Ability to influence and align delivery with Wood policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple crews in various field locations.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the successful applicant will be accountable for the oversight of all construction & commissioning strategy execution; including safety performance, planning, schedule, cost and delivery of all field works within the contract.

The role will also be responsible to engage with Client project subcontract and associated anciliary 3rd party service providers including Wood direct labour to ensure project integration and coordination, and be accountable for co-ordinating head office, field industrial relations, resourcing, planning, reporting, site performance and continuous improvement for construction and commissioning field teams to successfully execute field works in accordance with the contract.

Skills / Qualifications
