Job summary

Wood is seeking a dynamic Construction Manager to oversee construction and commissioning strategy in the Surat Basin, western Queensland. You will report to the Project Delivery Manager and be accountable for safety performance, planning, schedule, cost and delivery of all field works within the contract.

You will coordinate with Client subcontractors, Wood direct labour, and third-party service providers to ensure project integration, manage site teams, and drive continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in construction management/supervision and general project engineering in oil and gas.
• Proven team leader with mentorship and coaching abilities.
• Experience managing office, site construction, and commissioning teams.
• Experience supervising client and Wood direct 3rd Party contractors, including productivity, safety & quality outputs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage 70–100 Client & Wood third party and Wood direct construction and commissioning personnel across professional, trades and subcontractors.
• Ensure site execution in line with principal and third-party contract terms and conditions.
• Demonstrates effective delegation and team development with a focus on productivity and project integration.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage uncertainty to balance competing business demands.
• Work behaviours enhance the company’s reputation.
• Develop relationships with customers and Wood entities to sustain cost-efficient service delivery.
• Ensure construction and commissioning teams operate within Wood and client processes with regular audits and compliance reviews.
• Show sound, fact-based decision making and collaborative teamwork for goal achievement.
• Manage project Change Management and adapt to Industrial Relations trends.
