Job summary

Lead Group in Sydney CBD is seeking a Senior Construction Lawyer to join at Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partner level. The role covers front-end, back-end, or hybrid construction matters, advising developers, contractors and consultants on complex projects.

You will work with an established construction and infrastructure practice, with autonomy, leadership potential and clear pathway to partnership within a collaborative, specialist environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Australian construction law experience.
• Experience at Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partner level.
• Expertise in front-end, back-end or mixed construction matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advisory skills.
• Confidently managing complex matters and client relationships independently.
• Strong commercial awareness and leadership potential.
• A portable client base is not essential for Senior Associate candidates.
• For Partner-level lawyers, an established network or business development capability will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Advise developers, contractors, consultants and other industry participants on complex construction matters.
• Handle construction disputes, litigation and arbitration.
• Work on Security of Payment claims and adjudications.
• Draft contracts, procurement and project documentation.
• Provide risk allocation, contract negotiation and project advisory.
• Support mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
• Contribute to strategic growth of the practice as a senior lawyer or partner.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Lawyer at Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partner level to join a well-established construction and infrastructure practice in Sydney CBD.

We are interested in speaking with lawyers specialising in front-end, back-end construction or a combination of both, who are seeking a platform to further develop their expertise, client relationships and career.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced construction practitioners, you will advise developers, contractors, consultants and other key industry participants on a broad range of complex construction and infrastructure matters.

Depending on your expertise, your work may include:

• Construction disputes, complex litigation and arbitration
• Security of Payment claims and adjudications
• Contractual disputes, delay and disruption claims
• Building defects and major project disputes
• Construction contracts, procurement and project documentation
• Risk allocation, contract negotiation and project advisory
• Mediation and alternative dispute resolution
• Major commercial developments and infrastructure projects

For senior lawyers and established Partners, there is genuine scope to contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the practice.
