Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Compliance Officer for a contract assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys a varied workload, stakeholder engagement, and making a genuine impact within the community.

Working within a collaborative regulatory services team, you will play a key role in ensuring legislative compliance, conducting investigations, managing complex regulatory matters, and providing expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating and resolving regulatory and compliance matters.
• Monitoring activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and approvals.
• Preparing reports, notices and regulatory documentation.
• Managing customer enquiries and complaints in a professional and solutions-focused manner.
• Providing compliance advice and education to community stakeholders.
• Liaising with internal teams, residents, businesses and industry representatives.
• Assisting with enforcement actions where required, including preparing evidence for legal proceedings.

Contract Length: 6 months (Immediate Start Available)

About You We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience in compliance, investigations, regulatory services, planning, environmental health, building surveying or a related field.
• Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to investigate issues, analyse information and achieve practical outcomes.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team environment.
• Current Class C Driver's License.
