IBAC is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer in Melbourne to lead the management of compliance obligations under applicable legislation. The role reports to the Managing Principal Officer, Compliance and provides authoritative advisory support across the team.

Key duties include maintaining registers and records, auditing relevant data and devices, drafting policies, and coordinating with oversight agencies for inspections.

Qualificações

• Understanding of or the ability to quickly gain an understanding of IBAC's compliance obligations pursuant to relevant legislation.
• Knowledge and experience in effective compliance and/or auditing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work with precision and accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain IBAC registers and records systems, audit records relating to telecommunications data, interception and surveillance devices, assumed identities, controlled operations and international production orders.
• Prepare reports and draft policies procedures and systems related to IBAC's use of intrusive powers and compliance with legislative obligations.
• Identify, propose and implement improvements to compliance processes.
• Partner with oversight agencies to conduct inspections of IBAC registers and records.

We have an opportunity for an individual to join our compliance team as a Senior Compliance Officer on a full-time, ongoing basis. Reporting to the Managing Principal Officer, Compliance, the role will provide authoritative support and advice regarding the management of IBAC's compliance obligations arising under legislation.

Duties include:

• Maintain the upkeep of IBAC registers and records systems, and undertake audits of records relating to, telecommunications data and interception and the use of surveillance devices, assumed identities, controlled operations, international production orders and other areas of legislative compliance as required, and undertake relevant administrative requirements.
• Prepare reports and draft and maintain policies, procedures and systems in relation to IBAC's use of intrusive powers and compliance with legislative obligations and review or assist other team members with their documentation.
• Identify, propose and implement recommendations for continuous improvement of compliance processes.
• Partner with IBAC's oversight agencies to conduct inspections of IBAC registers and records.

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

• Understanding of or the ability to quickly gain an understanding of IBAC's compliance obligations pursuant to relevant legislation.
• Knowledge and experience in effective compliance and/or auditing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work with precision and accuracy.

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
