Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Warragul seeks a Senior Mental Health Clinician 26+ to lead our Community Mental Health Team. This full-time role combines advanced clinical practice with operational support, delivering assessments, care coordination, and recovery-focused treatment for adults 26+.

Qualifications

  • Registration and/or professional eligibility in Nursing, Social Work, OT, or Psychology.
  • Minimum five years' experience in mental health services, including complex presentations.
  • Demonstrated leadership with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, National Mental Health Standards, NSQHS Standards, and recovery-oriented practice.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time management abilities, with a commitment to continuous learning and service improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical leadership, support, and consultation to multidisciplinary team members delivering specialist community mental health services.
  • Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, care planning, care coordination, therapeutic interventions, and recovery-focused treatment for consumers with complex mental health needs.
  • Support the day-to-day operational activities of the service, working closely with the Site and Operations Manager to promote effective service delivery and implementation of the Model of Care.
  • Mentor and support clinicians through clinical guidance, knowledge sharing, professional development, and promotion of evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with consumers, carers, families, community agencies, and healthcare providers to facilitate integrated, person-centred care and positive recovery outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement, service development, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance clinical practice and service performance.

About the role

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician 26+ to Join our Community Mental Health Team in Warragul on aFull-time ongoing basis.

In this senior clinical role, you will provide leadership, guidance, and specialist support to multidisciplinary teams delivering care to consumers aged 26 years and over. Combining advanced clinical practice with operational support, you will undertake comprehensive assessments, care coordination, evidence-based interventions, and recovery-oriented treatment while contributing to service development, quality improvement, and implementation of the Mental Health Model of Care.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Qualified Mental Health professional with registration and/or professional eligibility in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Minimum five years' experience working within mental health services, including experience managing complex clinical presentations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to guide, support, and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, National Mental Health Standards, NSQHS Standards, and contemporary recovery-oriented practice.
  • Highly developed communication, consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time management abilities, with a commitment to continuous learning and service improvement.
