Job summary

Wollondilly Shire Council is seeking a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to plan and deliver communications and community engagement across roads and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on building understanding, encouraging participation and ensuring community voices are heard.

You will lead on developing strategies, use emerging technologies, and work with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, or equivalent and/or extensive relevant work experience.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced communications role.
• Demonstrated experience in community engagement facilitation, management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies and delivering innovative solutions to complex and wide-ranging issues and/or opportunities.
• Demonstrated experience using emerging technologies to deliver best practice communications and community engagement e.g. websites, social media, AI etc.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging communications and community engagement activities while working with diverse stakeholders to build understanding.
• Encourage participation and ensure community voices are heard.
• Deliver communication campaigns and evaluate their impact.
