Job summary

Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate ACT in Canberra seeks a Senior Commercial Partnerships Officer (ASO6) to drive the commercial success of iconic events such as Floriade, Enlighten Festival, Canberra Balloon Spectacular, New Year’s Eve and Australia Day.

You will manage the full partnership lifecycle, secure opportunities, negotiate agreements and deliver sponsorship activations, working with sponsors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience in sponsorship, partnerships, account management, business development, event management or a related commercial environment.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with the ability to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing proposals, reports and stakeholder communications.

Events ACT is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Commercial Partnerships Officer (ASO6) to join our Commercial team. In this role, you will contribute to the commercial success of some of Canberra's most iconic events, including Floriade, Enlighten Festival, Canberra Balloon Spectacular, New Year\'s Eve, Australia Day and more.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Commercial, you will work across the full commercial partnership lifecycle, identifying and securing new opportunities, managing commercial relationships, negotiating agreements, delivering sponsorship activations and supporting event operations. You will work closely with sponsors, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved while contributing to the successful delivery of Events ACT\'s diverse event portfolio.

We\'re looking for someone with:

• Experience in sponsorship, partnerships, account management, business development, event management or a related commercial environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing proposals, reports and stakeholder communications.
• A collaborative mindset, strong initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Experience in sponsorship, partnerships, commercial account management, event management or stakeholder engagement.
• An understanding of commercial partnerships, sponsorship programs or major event delivery.
• Qualifications in business, marketing, communications, event management, project management or a related discipline.
• A current driver\'s licence.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, flexible start, and finish times.
