Job summary

Journey Beyond is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to be the primary legal advisor to the Resorts & Lodges Division. You will negotiate property, procurement and project agreements, support acquisitions and manage disputes, balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes.

You will partner with the Managing Director, Resorts & Lodges, and operational leaders, finance, procurement and safety teams, as well as external advisers. A current Australian practicing certificate and 8+ PQE are required.

Qualifications

• LLB, JD or equivalent degree and current Australian practicing certificate.
• 8+ years PQE in top-tier law firm or in-house environment.
• Strong property and construction law experience; advising senior executives.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Hospitality, tourism, property or consumer-facing industry experience preferred; First Nations engagement advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on property, construction, privacy and compliance.
• Support acquisitions and integration of new businesses.
• Manage disputes, claims, litigation and regulatory investigations.
• Act as secretariat for divisional Boards and Executive Committees.
• Deliver legal training and improve processes and templates.
• Mentor and develop junior legal team members.
