Job summary

Victoria's Department of Education seeks a Senior Commercial Analyst and Metro School Cleaning Support Officer to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering financial analysis and customer service for metropolitan schools. The role drives strategic advice, improves performance and financial governance across central contracts.

Hybrid working is available; attendance at the central office is required. The role begins 25 March 2027 and operates within the VSBA School Cleaning Unit.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational information.
• Experience preparing financial reports, business cases, forecasts and performance analysis.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and financial analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities and improvements.
• Develop models, forecasts, reports and business cases to support decision-making.
• Manage financial processes including PO, invoices, accruals and budget monitoring.
• Lead and develop a customer service team for metropolitan schools.
• Prepare ministerial briefs, reports and executive advice.
• Support continuous improvement to improve performance and governance.
