Job summary

NW Technology seeks Senior Azure Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers to support major cloud initiatives within a Federal Government environment in Canberra. You will design, implement and continuously improve secure, scalable Azure platforms while providing technical leadership across delivery teams.

You will translate stakeholder requirements into scalable cloud designs, enable IaC and CI/CD, and ensure alignment with Australian government security standards and the DTA Digital Service

Qualifications

• Senior Azure Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers with hands-on Azure experience.

• Security clearance: Baseline or Above required
• Contract Tenure: Initial 12-month contract + 2 x 12-month extensions | Up to 40 hours per week

NW Technology is seeking experienced Senior Azure Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers to support the delivery of major cloud and digital initiatives within a Federal Government environment.

We are looking for professionals who can combine strong architecture capability with hands-on Azure engineering experience. You will help design, implement and continuously improve secure, scalable cloud platforms and applications while providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop enterprise cloud and solution architectures across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the design and delivery of secure cloud solutions.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable application, integration, networking and identity designs.
• Support platform automation, testing, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary business, delivery, security and architecture teams.
• Ensure solutions align with Australian Government security standards, target architectures and the DTA Digital Service Standard.
• Promote reusable, configurable and open architectural patterns.
• Mentor team members and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About you

You will have strong experience designing, implementing and managing Azure cloud platforms and solutions, including:

• Azure applications and integration: App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Azure SQL and Dynamics 365 integrations.
• Identity, security and monitoring: Entra ID, Key Vault, RBAC, Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• DevOps and infrastructure: Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates, Virtual Networks and Private Endpoints.
• Architecture and governance: Enterprise/application architecture, cloud security and whole-of-government standards.

You will also bring experience working in Agile, geographically dispersed teams, along with strong stakeholder engagement, communication, mentoring and technical leadership skills.

Highly desirable

• Application, integration or cloud platform architecture experience.
• AWS or Google Cloud experience.
• Knowledge of the ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and DTA standards.
