Job summary

IT Alliance Australia on behalf of a Federal Government client seeks a Senior Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer at EL1 level for a 3-year contract in Canberra with a 3 days in-office / 2 days work from home pattern. The role requires 5+ years Azure experience, delivering enterprise cloud solutions, architecture design, IAM, networking, monitoring, and governance in line with Australian government standards.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Azure cloud experience delivering enterprise solutions.
• Azure architecture and solution design for enterprise-scale platforms.
• Strong hands-on with Azure DevOps, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Identity and security expertise including Entra ID, Key Vault, and RBAC.
• Azure networking with VNet, Private Endpoints, and secure connectivity.
• Monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Integration experience with enterprise systems, especially Dynamics 365 CRM.
• Security governance aligned with Australian Government standards.
• Ability to produce architecture documentation and provide technical guidance.

Job description

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Senior Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer - EL1 Level. This is a long-term contractual position.

Please check below all the job details:

Contract Duration: 03 Years (12 months initially + 24 months extension)

Work Location: Canberra (03 Days office/02 Days home per week)

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on Azure Cloud experience implementing and managing enterprise cloud solutions.
• Azure architecture & solution design – enterprise-level cloud platform architecture and high-level/detailed solution architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Azure DevOps – repositories, code management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines/deployments.
• Identity & Security – Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault and RBAC.
• Azure Networking – Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and secure cloud connectivity.
• Monitoring & Observability – Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Integration experience – integrating Azure/cloud platforms with third-party and enterprise systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
• Cloud security & governance – solutions aligned with Australian Government / Whole-of-Government standards.
• Architecture documentation – ability to produce solution architectures and detailed technical/architecture guidance for engineering teams.
• Technical leadership – provide architectural direction, impact analysis, technical guidance and mentor engineers/team members.
• Agile delivery experience – working in multidisciplinary teams with architects, developers, BAs, testers, Scrum Masters and business stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement – able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and adapt quickly when requirements/scope change.
• Understanding of DTA Digital Service Standard and user-centred government digital delivery.
