Job summary

eSync Solutions in Canberra is seeking experienced Senior Cloud Architects / Cloud Engineers to shape enterprise cloud platforms for a major Australian Government ICT program.

You will design, deliver, and continuously improve secure, scalable cloud solutions across Azure and Microsoft 365, with emphasis on governance, automation, and collaboration with stakeholders. Remote arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
• Understanding Australian Government standards and architectural principles.
• Experience designing architectures for large, complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Cloud Architects / Cloud Engineers for a major Australian Government ICT program.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidates will contribute to the design, delivery and ongoing improvement of enterprise cloud platforms and cloud-based solutions.

You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to develop secure, scalable and reliable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles and Australian Government standards.

• Develop enterprise-level cloud platform architectures across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
• Develop high-level solution architectures for cloud-based systems
• Provide detailed architecture guidance to cloud engineers and development teams
• Analyse user and stakeholder requirements and provide technical impact assessments
• Ensure enterprise and system solutions align with relevant Australian Government standards
• Provide technical guidance throughout the design and build of cloud-based systems
• Work collaboratively with business owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, enterprise architects and testers
• Support user-focused and reliable technology solutions
• Provide expertise in cloud platform automation, testing, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
• Promote cloud architecture principles including reuse, configuration over customisation and open access
• Provide technical leadership, influence and mentoring across multidisciplinary teams

Essential Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

Microsoft Azure: App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus and API Management

Azure DevOps: Code development, source control, repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments

Security & Identity: Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights

Azure Networking: Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

Integration: Experience integrating cloud-based systems with third-party platforms, including CRM solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics 365

Architecture: Enterprise-level and application-level cloud architecture, solution design and technical documentation

• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels

• Understanding of Australian Government / Whole-of-Government standards and architectural principles
• Experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise environments
• Technical leadership across both project and operational environments
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and enterprise cloud architectures
• Application, integration and/or infrastructure platform architecture experience
• 3+ years' experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but not essential
