Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking experienced Clinical Coders to join the team at John Hunter Hospital. You will code patient records to ICD-10-AM standards, ensuring accuracy and timely processing across multiple hospitals.

The role offers permanent full-time or part-time prospects with flexible work options, support from coding management, and opportunities for professional development within NSW Health. Training will be provided on commencement.

Qualifications

• Recognised ICD-10-AM & ACHI coding qualification with Australian coding experience.
• Advanced qualification or broad specialty experience preferred for senior roles.
• Solid knowledge of Australian Coding Standards and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Code episodes for John Hunter, Belmont and Tomaree hospitals using ICD-10-AM.
• Ensure accuracy, productivity and data quality for casemix reporting.
• Address queries and correct coding errors and quality indicators (PICQ).
• Remote work may be considered for applicants with 3+ years experience within Australia.
