NSW Health in Sydney seeks a casual clinical coder to translate clinical narratives into ICD-10-AM/ACHI codes and assign DRGs within required timeframes. Flexibility to work across NSLHD sites or remotely for eligible coders is available.
The successful candidate will have HIMAA/OTEN or equivalent Health Information Management qualifications, demonstrated tertiary-hospital coding experience, and a track record of meeting coding throughput and quality KPIs.

The primary responsibility of a clinical coder is the accurate translation of narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries and procedures into alphanumeric codes using ICD-10-AM and the correct assignment of the DRG within the NSW Health and Northern Sydney Local Health District timeframes.
