Job summary

Myer is seeking a Senior Claims and Injury Management Advisor to manage NSW workers compensation claims under our self-insurance program. This role focuses on return-to-work outcomes, stakeholder collaboration, and compliance with NSW legislation from a hybrid Roselands-based office in NSW/ACT.

You will coach site management, monitor progress, and support cost-effective resolution of complex claims. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover with flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge, understanding and application of NSW workers compensation legislation and regulation.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Highly developed written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply the 'Health benefits of good work' to influence the return-to-work process.
• Experience in review and approval of medical services and treatment requests.

Responsibilities

• Work with the stakeholders to implement effective strategies to improve return to work outcomes, reduce hours lost and mitigate claims costs.
• Ensure claims are managed in accordance with NSW legislation, the terms of Myer’s self-insurance licence and Myer’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Manage the end-to-end operation of workers compensation claims in accordance with legislation, regulations and guidelines.
• Establish and maintain proactive communication with injured team members, their treating practitioners and other stakeholders to facilitate recovery and early, sustainable return to work.
• Actively monitor and manage return to work progress to ensure issues are identified early and timely action is taken.
• Provide coaching and advice to site management to drive the development of capability in managing return to work processes.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to other Risk & Safety NSW team members in the development of case strategies and application of legislation, supporting team development
• Represent Myer in the management of claim disputes and strategically manage litigated claims in conjunction with legal providers to achieve cost-effective outcomes
• Assist the Team Lead in complaint resolution by liaising with parties involved, including the regulator and the Independent Review Office (IRO) as required
• Assist the Team lead in managing Quality Assurance activities and providing necessary feedback to Risk & Safety NSW team members
• Attendance on site to facilitate return to work for injured team members and assist with coaching and mentoring of Myer site management as and when required

The People and Safety Team is seeking a Senior Claims & Injury Management Advisor NSW ACT to effectively manage NSW workers compensation claims under our self-insurance program ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the role:
