Job summary

Suncorp is seeking an Injury Management Advisor - Workers Compensation in Newcastle. This front-end role (0 to 26 weeks) sits within a small to medium ER portfolio and focuses on evidence-based, compliant injury management to support recovery and return-to-work outcomes.

You will interpret medical information, provide treatment advice, and align decisions with legislation and delegated authority, while coaching team members and promoting customer-first practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Allied Health discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
• Minimum 2 years Workers Compensation - Desired.
• Minimum 2 years Occupational Rehabilitation experience - Desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical injury management advice regarding treatment and rehabilitation needs.
• Interpret medical reports and advise on reasonableness and necessity of intervention.
• Ensure decisions are aligned with legislation, evidence-based practice, and delegated authority.
• Work closely with leaders and technical specialists to embed proactive, consistent practices.
• Contribute to strategic planning, process development, and improvement initiatives.

• 12 month full-Time role

Purpose of the Role:

The Injury Management Advisor - Workers Compensation is critical to delivering timely, evidence-based, and compliant injury management services. This role supports recovery and return-to-work outcomes by providing technical advice on treatment and rehabilitation needs, influencing claims strategies, and supporting Claims Advisors to manage tail claims effectively. You will champion consistent decision-making, legislative compliance, and coaching across the team while promoting customer-first practices and contributing to overall claims performance and cost-effectiveness. The position is in a Front end (0 to 26wks) Small to Medium ER Portfolio.
