Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of maintenance and construction projects in the Southwest region of NSW. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams across contractors and consultants.

You will develop project plans, manage budgets, travel within the region, and ensure compliance with timeframes, budgets, quality standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Four-year Civil Engineering or equivalent degree.
• Knowledge of road and traffic infrastructure materials, equipment, construction methods, and maintenance practices.
• Experience working with or managing direct-control workforces in the delivery of construction and maintenance activities.
• Understanding of tendering, contract administration, procurement processes, and contractor management.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel and work outside normal working hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of maintenance and construction projects and programs across the Southwest region of NSW ensuring completion within agreed timeframes, budgets, quality standards, and scope requirements while meeting client and customer expectations.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and technical documentation, including project briefs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee project delivery teams, contractors, consultants, and service providers, ensuring effective collaboration and high-quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, providing technical advice and contributing to road safety, asset management, network efficiency, and a customer-focused team culture.
