Job summary

Amey Australia seeks a Senior Civil Engineer - Engineering Team Lead to join the Albury office, driving project delivery, team performance, client relationships, and business growth across the Riverina region.

The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, mentoring engineers, overseeing budgets, schedules, and proposals while collaborating with the General Manager and leadership team for growth and capability development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• NER Registered Engineer status or progression
• CPEng and MIEAust credentials or working towards them
• 7+ years in civil engineering and project delivery in consulting
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and client relationships

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Civil Engineering team to achieve business and project objectives
• Oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects to agreed quality, budget, and time requirements
• Provide technical leadership and expert advice across civil engineering projects
• Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and technical documentation
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers and technical staff
• Manage project resources, utilisation, and team workloads
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and commercial performance
• Build and maintain strong client relationships across the region
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and contribute to winning work
• Prepare and review fee proposals and project submissions
• Support recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Operational Leadership Team to achieve strategic goals
• Promote Amey Australia's civil engineering capabilities across the market
