Amey Australia is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Engineering Team Lead to join our Albury office and lead project delivery, drive team performance, and foster client relationships across the Riverina region.

You will balance hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, overseeing technical excellence, resources, and financial outcomes while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• NER Registered Engineer status is required or in progress toward CPEng/MIEAust.
• Minimum 7 years' civil engineering and project delivery experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing projects.
• Strong understanding of civil design, standards, legislation and best practice.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, programs and client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Civil Engineering team to achieve business and project objectives
• Oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects to agreed quality, budget, and time requirements
• Provide technical leadership and expert advice across civil engineering projects
• Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and technical documentation
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers and technical staff
• Manage project resources, utilisation, and team workloads
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and commercial performance
• Build and maintain strong client relationships across the region
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and contribute to winning work
• Prepare and review fee proposals and project submissions
• Support recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Operational Leadership Team to achieve strategic goals
• Promote Amey Australia's Civil Engineering capabilities across the market

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• NER Registered Engineer
• CPEng and MIEAust (or working towards where applicable)
• Minimum 7 years' experience in civil engineering and project delivery within a consulting environment
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing project delivery
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design, standards, legislation, and industry best practice
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, programs, and client relationships
• Strong commercial awareness within a professional services environment
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
