Amey Australia is seeking a senior civil engineer in Townsville to join a supportive team. You will work across design, project delivery and client engagement, gradually taking ownership and leading projects from planning through to delivery.
You’ll collaborate with principal engineers, coordinate with subconsultants and manage timelines and budgets while mentoring junior staff and growing your leadership capability.
Looking for a role where you can step into project leadership while still being supported by experienced engineers around you? This opportunity in Townsville offers exactly that. You’ll work on a range of multidisciplinary projects, with the space to grow into leading your own work while being backed by a genuinely supportive team.
This is a well-rounded engineering role where you’ll be involved across design, project delivery and client engagement. You’ll be working closely with Principal Engineers, supporting project delivery and gradually taking on more ownership. Your work will include civil design, preparing reports and proposals, coordinating with subconsultants, and managing project timelines and budgets.
There’s a strong focus on developing your project leadership capability. You won’t be left on your own, but you also won’t be held back if you’re ready to step up. As your confidence grows, you’ll lead your own projects from planning through to delivery.
This role will suit someone who enjoys both technical work and taking responsibility for delivering outcomes.
The Townsville team is known for being supportive, approachable and collaborative. Senior engineers actively mentor junior staff, and there’s a genuine culture of learning across all levels.
You’ll be encouraged to speak up about the types of projects or work you’re interested in. Management is open to shaping workloads where possible so people can develop in areas they’re motivated by.
The office has a relaxed and social feel without losing professionalism. Regular team lunches, morning teas and informal catch-ups are part of how the team stays connected. It’s a group that works well together and enjoys doing so.
This is a good move if you’re ready for more ownership but still value having experienced people around you.
