Job summary

Stantec in Canberra is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our Urban Development or Transport teams. You will design and deliver urban and transport infrastructure from concept to construction, including roads, drainage, earthworks and public spaces, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in consulting or senior engineer role.
• Professional Engineering registration is required.
• Strong technical design and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil or transport infrastructure projects across roads, utilities, and transport.
• Oversee project deliverables including pricing, bidding, client liaison, and drafting coordination.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings in line with statutory requirements and quality standards.
• Provide input into feasibility studies, civil design, and technical reporting.
• Build strong client relationships and manage scope changes to ensure successful outcomes.
• Maintain engagement with clients throughout lifecycles, including reporting and negotiations.
