Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT is seeking an experienced Children's Art/Play Therapist & Counsellor to support children and young people who have experienced trauma, domestic and family violence, and other life challenges. The role focuses on evidence-based counselling, play therapy and creative approaches to build resilience and wellbeing.

Based in Broadmeadows, you will work with families and groups, using trauma-informed, strengths-based practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in trauma-informed, evidence-based, and strengths-based practices.
• Counselling, play therapy, or art therapy approaches may be used.
• Experience with domestic and family violence and sexual violence sectors.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions to help children process experiences and build resilience.
• Deliver play-based, art therapy and counselling for children and families.
• Run psycho-educational programs and therapeutic group work.
• Support children and families affected by domestic and family violence and sexual violence.
