UCQ is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant, Capital & Projects, on a Full-Time Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2027, with hybrid work by agreement. The role concentrates on capital and project accounting with related transformation activities.

You will partner with project managers, review expenditures, support asset capitalisation and reporting, oversee fixed assets and leases, and assist budgeting and forecasting while developing your team through coaching.

Qualifikationen

• Tertiary accounting qualification with CA ANZ/CPA membership.
• Strong financial accounting experience with capital and project accounting knowledge (AASB 116/138/16).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (intermediate or higher).
• Willingness to lead a direct report; management experience welcomed but not essential.
• Experience with SAP, Dynamics 365 or BI reporting desirable.

Aufgaben

• Provide trusted financial accounting support across Capital & Project portfolio.
• Partner with project managers and stakeholders, offering practical financial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review project expenditure, support asset capitalisation and deliver clear project reporting and analysis.
• Oversee key fixed-asset activities, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, verification and impairment assessments.
• Support lease accounting, balance-sheet reconciliations, audit requirements, budgeting and forecasting.
• Contribute to Finance Information Transformation project activities, including data cleansing, system testing and finance process improvements.
• Lead and support one Financial Accountant through clear priorities, coaching and feedback; prior formal people‑management experience is welcome but not essential.
