Job summary

NSW Health seeks a Senior BI Developer to design and deliver advanced Power BI solutions, dashboards and reports for diverse government programs.

You will lead data modelling and warehousing efforts, implement cloud analytics with Snowflake and dbt, and orchestrate data transformation pipelines while engaging stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable insights.

Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

About you

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional who can support the work of NSW Health with:

• Advanced experience developing business intelligence solutions using Power BI, including data visualisation, dashboard design and reporting best practices.
• Strong expertise in data modelling, data warehousing and cloud-based analytics platforms such as Snowflake or equivalent technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing data transformation frameworks and pipelines using tools such as dbt or similar approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects, balance competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and influence outcomes across diverse business groups.

• 1.Describe a complex business intelligence or analytics solution that you have designed and delivered end-to-end. Include the data sources involved, your approach to data modelling and transformation, the technologies used (e.g. Power BI, Snowflake, dbt or similar), key challenges encountered, and the business outcomes achieved.
• 2.Provide an example of where you partnered with business stakeholders to deliver a reporting, analytics or business intelligence solution. How did you gather and refine requirements, manage competing priorities or differing viewpoints, and ensure the final solution met both business needs and technical standards?
