Job description

Eleven is a PR and social agency that creates cultural impact for brands by turning ideas up to eleven. We bring together earned creative, PR, social, creators, partnerships and technology to make work people notice, share and want to be part of. We're curious about what's changing in culture and driven to create ideas that spark conversation, challenge convention and deliver meaningful impact.

As part of Omnicom Oceania, Eleven can collaborate across a broader connected group of communications and marketing capabilities. This creates opportunities to bring together different disciplines and expertise to solve client challenges and deliver culturally resonant work.

Eleven is part of the Omnicom earned centre of excellence that also includes FleishmanHillard and Weber Shandwick. Both are part of global agency networks. That brings the opportunity to learn from colleagues around the world, draw on international perspectives and specialist expertise, and collaborate on ideas that can travel across markets.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Business Director sets the strategic direction for key client relationships and leads the delivery of excellent work across PR, social, influencer and experiential programmes. You'll be a senior counsel to clients, a creative champion for the work, and a leader who helps teams do their best work.

This role is to work on a leading, global food and hospitality client that's known locally for its big, culturally-impactful work.

You'll combine commercial judgement with curiosity, creative ambition and a strong understanding of culture. You'll grow existing relationships, help win new business, and develop a high-performing team-while creating an environment where bold thinking and rigorous delivery go hand in hand.

A communications qualification or similar is required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic leadership and work
  • Set the strategic direction for key client programmes, translating business objectives into clear, creative communications and social strategies.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of integrated programmes across PR, earned media, social, creators, events and other relevant disciplines.
  • Look beyond media relations to identify the right mix of communications approaches for each brief.
  • Champion ambitious, culturally relevant ideas and help teams turn them into excellent, award-worthy work.
  • Use current affairs, audience understanding and category knowledge to identify opportunities, add value and keep clients ahead.
  • Guide the development and quality of client materials, from strategy and pitches to releases, features, presentations, reports and other content.
  • Lead briefings and collaboration across strategy, creative, production and other specialist teams.
  • Evaluate activity and performance, identify what can be improved and keep raising the standard of the work.
  • Be the senior day-to-day partner for client leaders and a trusted source of counsel.
  • Build a deep understanding of client objectives, business, competitors, industry, issues and partner ecosystem.
  • Anticipate challenges, advise clients with clarity and confidence, and develop solutions before issues escalated.
  • Lead client conversations, presentations and negotiations, articulating recommendations and the rationale behind them.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, respond constructively to feedback and strengthen relationships over time.
  • Coach clients on communications opportunities and help them understand the value and role of PR, social and related disciplines.
Business and commercial growth
  • Identify and deliver organic growth opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Lead new business development, from spotting opportunities and shaping propositions to pitching and winning work.
  • Negotiate budgets and scope changes, set clear expectations and protect the quality and sustainability of delivery.
  • Own account financial performance, including forecasting, profitability, costs, servicing and billable targets.
  • Work with resource and project leads to plan capacity, assemble teams and keep work appropriately resourced.
  • Support smooth onboarding of new work and continued, high-quality delivery across existing accounts.
HOW YOU'LL LEAD
  • Set a clear, positive tone and create the conditions for a focused, ambitious and supportive team.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team, building trust, accountability and strong collaboration.
  • Plan team capacity and resourcing in partnership with resource leads, balancing people's development with client and business needs.
  • Coach and support team members through regular feedback, development conversations and tailored growth plans.
  • Conduct performance and 360-degree reviews, recognise potential and take an active role in retaining and developing talent.
  • Contribute to recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training and agency culture initiatives.
  • Share knowledge generously and model the agency's values through clear communication, sound judgement and constructive problem-solving.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 8-10 years' agency or relevant communications experience, with a strong record of senior client leadership.
  • Proven success growing client relationships and contributing to client growth.
  • Excellent business acumen and confidence owning account performance, budgets, forecasts and profitability.
  • A strong understanding of PR and marketing communications, with the ability to develop and lead integrated strategies across earned media, social, influencers and experiences.
  • Industry expertise, cultural curiosity and a point of view on how brands can earn attention and make a meaningful impact.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and influence at a senior level.
  • A track record of building high-trust relationships with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
