Job description

ABOUT ELEVEN, FLEISHMANHILLARD & WEBER SHANDWICK

Eleven, FleishmanHillard and Weber Shandwick are part of the Omnicom Oceania earned media centre of excellence —three agency teams with different strengths, united by a belief in the power of ideas, stories and culture to make a meaningful impact.

The three agencies are co-located. This role works across Eleven and FleishmanHilllard.

Eleven is one of ANZ’s most awarded agencies, with work recognised across leading creative and communications awards.

FleishmanHillard and Weber Shandwick are part of global agency networks. That brings the opportunity to learn from colleagues around the world, draw on international perspectives and specialist expertise, and collaborate on ideas that can travel across markets.

As part of Omnicom Oceania, we bring together different disciplines and capabilities—from PR, social and creators to creative, media and production—to help brands engage people in relevant, surprising and memorable ways.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A confident, creative communications consultant who builds trusted relationships, makes smart stories happen and brings brands closer to the people who love them. An interest in corporate communications is desirable.

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant who can turn strategy into compelling communications and deliver excellent day-to-day client service. You’ll help lead projects from idea to execution: shaping creative media strategies, building media momentum, working with influencers and partners, and making sure the details land.

You’ll be a trusted day-to-day contact for clients, a proactive partner to journalists and creators, and a generous collaborator with your team. You’ll bring sound judgement, initiative and a strong sense of what will resonate with people.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strategy, stories and execution

  • Help develop creative media strategies that connect client objectives with the interests, behaviours and conversations of consumers.
  • Turn campaign strategy into clear plans, timelines and deliverables, keeping work moving from brief through to evaluation.
  • Lead day-to-day media relations activity, including shaping angles, pitching stories, coordinating interviews and pursuing coverage against agreed objectives.
  • Build and nurture journalist relationships, bringing a strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and relevant consumer, lifestyle and technology titles.
  • Respond to journalist enquiries with care and pace, spotting when an angle needs to shift and involving your supervisor when needed.
  • Write and edit sharp, audience-aware materials across pitches, releases, briefing documents, features, case studies, newsletters, web copy and bylined articles.

Creators, events and partnerships

  • Manage influencer and talent activity, including research, outreach, negotiation and tracking talent costs against budgets.
  • Support the development and delivery of events, partnerships and other experiences that give audiences a reason to engage.
  • Brief and coordinate colleagues across creative, production and other specialist teams to bring integrated ideas to life.

Client leadership and delivery

  • Serve as a confident day-to-day contact, building rapport and developing a strong understanding of the client’s business, category and priorities.
  • Articulate recommendations and the thinking behind them clearly, and present creative ideas, plans and work-in-progress with growing confidence.
  • Take ownership of defined projects, manage deadlines and budgets, keep work-in-progress documents current, and flag risks early with practical solutions.
  • Coordinate post-campaign analysis and deliver clear, accurate reporting to clients on time.
  • Contribute actively to planning and brainstorms, bringing considered ideas and a point of view.

Team and business contribution

  • Contribute to new business through research, ideas, rationale and presentation development.
  • Support account administration, budget and cost management, and accurate timesheet completion.
  • Build understanding of the agency’s wider services and how they can help solve client challenges.
  • Coach and support junior colleagues, helping them stay organised and deliver their best work.

HOW YOU’LL WORK

  • Build proactive, trusted relationships with clients and understand their processes, expectations and business priorities.
  • Be a reliable day-to-day contact and provide continuity when your supervisor is unavailable.
  • Keep client work on track: communicate clearly, meet deadlines and raise challenges early.
  • Manage agreed projects and budgets with appropriate supervisor support, balancing quality, timing and cost.

Collaboration and development

  • Work positively across account teams and disciplines, communicating clearly and sharing information.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, supportive team culture and build strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Take initiative and work independently where appropriate, while asking for guidance when you need it.
  • Stay open to feedback and keep developing your judgement, presentation skills and confidence as a counsellor.
  • Model strong organisation and attention to detail, including keeping project records and timesheets current.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • At least two years’ agency or relevant communications experience, with a strong grounding in media relations.
  • A genuine interest in news, culture and the stories that influence what people talk about and choose.
  • The ability to develop a clear story angle, tailor it for different media and audiences, and help bring it to life.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across a range of formats, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence communicating with clients, journalists, creators, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Experience or aptitude in influencer programmes, event coordination and campaign delivery.
  • Good organisation, sound problem-solving and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Initiative and judgement: you can take ownership, work independently when appropriate and seek advice when it’s needed.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of people.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.

YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF...

You’re curious about people and culture, excited by a story or strong idea and motivated to make the work better. You combine creative energy with dependable follow-through, build relationships with care, and take pride in delivering high-quality work—even when several things are moving at once.

WHAT WE’LL BRING

You’ll join a friendly, ambitious team that values curiosity, collaboration and creative thinking. You’ll have opportunities to learn from different teams and disciplines, build your confidence through hands‑on work and see how ideas are developed for different clients and audiences.

Through our global networks, you can also gain exposure to international perspectives and expertise, and learn from work happening in other markets. The scale of Omnicom Oceania creates further opportunities to collaborate with specialists across the wider communications and marketing mix. Benefits include:

  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Professional development programmes and access to learning resources.
  • Paid annual leave, personal leave and public holidays.
  • Parental leave and family-friendly policies.
  • Cultural and social events that help build connection and creativity.
  • Potential mobility opportunities within the network.
  • A collaborative, inclusive and creatively ambitious workplace culture.
