Job summary

Austi Bookkeeping, a dynamic bookkeeping practice in Wollongong near Corrimal, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper for a full-time, immediate-start role. Initially on-site with potential to move to a hybrid setup after probation. The role is not open to overseas applicants or fully remote work.

You will manage client bookkeeping across multiple accounts using Xero, MYOB and add-ons, oversee payroll and compliance, and mentor junior staff while delivering precise reports and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate IV in Bookkeeping & Accounting (or equivalent) or a current BAS Agent certification.
• Strong hands-on Xero & MYOB experience (Payroll, AP/AR, management reporting).
• Excellent grasp of bookkeeping processes and compliance with high attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation and BAS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for multiple clients using Xero, MYOB and add-on software.
• Process and oversee payroll, superannuation, and workers' compensation compliance.
• Liaise with clients, accountants and government agencies.
• Review and mentor junior team members’ work.
• Deliver accurate, timely reports and reconciliations.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team at Austi Bookkeeping, an expert and dynamic bookkeeping practice. This is a full time, immediate start position working out of our Wollongong office based in Corrimal, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid role after probation. This role is not open to overseas applicants, or those seeking a fully remote role.

We’re looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who’s highly experienced, fast, and thorough. You take initiative, follow through, are curious and love problem solving. You love to multi task, and will be involved with the accounts of multiple clients, gaining valuable insight into how businesses operate across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities include:

What we’re looking for:

• A minimum of Certificate IV in Bookkeeping & Accounting qualification (or equiv) or higher is required, and/or a current Registered BAS Agent certification.
• Strong hands-onXero& MYOB experience (including Payroll, AP/AR, and management reporting)
• An excellent grasp of bookkeeping processes and compliance requirements with high attention to detail.
• Sound knowledge ofpayroll tax, superannuation, and BAS requirements
• SolidExcelskills are advantageous, along with the other Microsoft Office products
• Experience withDEXT and Karbon preferred but not essential
• Confident written and verbal communicator with clients, external stakeholders and colleagues.
• Professional, reliable, and proactive - you follow through and meet deadlines
• Patient and capable mentor for junior staff
• Comfortable working to time budgets and managing shifting priorities
