Job summary

Job description

Clinical Support Queensland are excited to welcome applications for a Senior Biomedical Technician to join the Biomedical Technology Services (BTS) team in Cairns! BTS provides a comprehensive health technology management, service and support capability to Hospital and Health Services and other parts of Queensland Health through the state-wide delivery of biomedical engineering, diagnostic medical physics, and radiology support services.

About the role:

As a Senior Biomedical Technician, you will be an integral part of a team delivering technical services including repairs, planned maintenance and other technology support services to ensure the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high-level technology support services with minimal supervision including but not limited to preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, de-installation and general technical support.
• Independently solve complex technical problems regarding health technology equipment and systems.
• Perform cross-discipline activity as required.
• Accurately document activity in the relevant information systems.
• Provide supervision, training and support to fellow team members, including technical practice supervision and/or supervision of small work groups.
• Assist supervisors and managers as directed with service planning, establishing priorities and scheduling major work programs.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, to achieve service delivery objectives.
• Contribute to the development and continual improvement of technical practice and processes.

You will demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills when working with clinical staff, suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, and contribute effectively as part of a team to achieve organisational goals. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to quality management and continuous improvement, with a focus on enhancing technical services and outcomes.
