Job summary

Queensland Health in Ipswich is seeking a Biomedical Technician Senior to deliver advanced health technology support, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair and de-installation of biomedical equipment. Qualifications

Job description

As the Biomedical Technician Senior, you will deliver advanced health technology support services with a high degree of autonomy, including the installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair and de-installation of biomedical equipment and systems. You will independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, undertake cross-disciplinary activities as required, and ensure all maintenance and service activities are accurately documented in relevant information systems. In addition, you will provide technical leadership, training and support to team members, assist with service planning and the coordination of major work programs, and collaborate with clinical staff, suppliers, service providers and managers to achieve service delivery objectives. You will also contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of technical practices, processes and service outcomes.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

• An Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification(s) in the field of Engineering.
• Proven advanced level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the maintenance, installation and technical support of health technology equipment and systems.
• Proven ability to apply independent judgment and initiative to effectively plan, execute and coordinate technical service delivery with minimal guidance from more senior practitioners.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers.
• Proven ability to work as an effective team member to achieve organisational goals.
