Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Senior Biomedical Technician to join the team responsible for maintenance, repairs, and support of health technology equipment and systems. You will deliver high-level technical services with minimal supervision and help ensure patient safety through reliable technology.

You will document activity, train junior staff, assist with service planning, and communicate with clinicians, suppliers and managers to meet service delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced knowledge in maintenance, installation and support of health technology equipment and systems.
• Ability to independently plan and deliver technical services with sound judgement.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clinical staff, suppliers and managers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level technology support services with minimal supervision including preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, de-installation and general technical support.
• Independently solve complex technical problems regarding health technology equipment and systems.
• Perform cross-discipline activity as required.
• Accurately document activity in the relevant information systems.
• Provide supervision, training and support to fellow team members, including technical practice supervision and/or supervision of small work groups.
• Assist supervisors and managers as directed with service planning, establishing priorities and scheduling major work programs.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, to achieve service delivery objectives.
• Contribute to the development and continual improvement of technical practice and processes.
