Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a commercially focused Business Development Manager – Surface to drive growth for Surface Drills across Western Australia and South Australia. You will identify opportunities, engage early with mining stakeholders, and position Sandvik as the preferred partner for surface drilling solutions.

You will lead major opportunities from identification through tender and order placement, coordinating cross-functional teams to maximise value and safety in the field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business development or capital equipment sales within mining or heavy equipment
• Experience leading tenders, RFQs, commercial proposals and contract negotiations
• Strong understanding of surface mining, surface drilling and automation technologies
• Established networks in WA/SA mining markets
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong commercial awareness and value-selling capability
• Ability to analyze market trends, customer requirements and pipeline performance

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop surface drilling opportunities across WA and SA
• Build relationships with mining executives and procurement teams
• Develop visibility of mine plans and capital expenditure programs
• Lead opportunities through tender, negotiation and order placement
• Coordinate RFQs, tenders and internal approvals
• Collaborate with product management, automation, service and finance teams
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
• Champion Sandvik’s safety, compliance and Zero Harm goals
