Job summary

Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and manage secure Azure cloud and hosted infrastructure supporting mission critical digital services.

You'll administer Azure environments, develop Infrastructure as Code, apply policy-driven data protection, and ensure high availability and multi-region resilience across ASD platforms. This role requires hands-on expertise and collaboration with product owners, architects and cloud providers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in hosted services environments including hardware, software, virtualisation and storage.
• Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP networking.
• Experience designing and managing Azure cloud environments.
• Experience developing IaC and automated deployment pipelines.

• Manage and administer Microsoft Azure cloud environments including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, governance and security
• Design, develop and implement high availability, multi region Azure solutions
• Analyse operational standards, processes and governance to identify improvements

• Support cloud adoption of applications as they are transformed and modernised

Education/Certifications Required

• Strong technical background across hosted and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Azure provisioning, governance, monitoring and security

• Strong understanding of data protection, backup and disaster recovery practices
• Experience developing IaC using cloud native tools
• Strong capability in performance and capacity management
• Ability to work within secure, high assurance environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
