Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking a Principal Planning Analyst - Components in Sydney to lead a small team managing contracted parts for the mainline fleet and ensure On-Time Performance targets are met. The role blends hands-on supply chain planning with supplier engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires a degree, 5+ years in demand planning/inventory optimisation, and strong Excel/Access skills, plus excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with experience in supply chain planning, purchasing or inventory management.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in demand planning and inventory optimisation.
• Strong understanding of planning, purchasing and inventory control principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team in the management of parts under contract to support the Qantas mainline fleet and ensure OTP targets are met.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve shortages to improve reliability.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives such as system upgrades and fleet modification programs.
• Collaborate with Qantas Engineering and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
