Job summary

Paxus is seeking a Senior Audit & Security Engineer (APS6 equivalent) to support the development, uplift and ongoing operation of ICT security systems in a highly secure Federal Government environment. The role is hands-on across the full system/software lifecycle with continuous security monitoring and deployment support.

Based in Canberra, this contract position requires strong Linux and scripting skills (Python/PowerShell), SIEM and vulnerability management expertise, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of information security principles and technologies.
• Experience building and administering ICT security systems and applications.
• Solid Linux experience and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux OS and core network services.
• Ability to document use cases, procedures, and technical security docs.
• Experience with vulnerability management, EDR, SIEM or related.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate security technologies across full lifecycle (requirements to validation).
• Build and run monitoring to collect, analyse and respond to security logs/events.
• Deliver security automation solutions and guidance on security controls.
• Assess system security docs and configurations and perform vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and provide technical leadership.
