Job summary

HSBC Bank Australia Limited is seeking a Senior Associate in Corporate Banking (International Middle Markets) to partner with Relationship Directors and manage internationally focused corporates with turnover from $50m to $3b, including ASX Top 200 companies, private businesses and sponsor-owned entities.

You will originate new business and manage a portfolio, working independently on complex transactions, with strong credit skills and a business mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to successfully work with corporate customers with complex banking requirements.
• Experience in a corporate/institutional finance setting with understanding of bilateral and syndicated loans, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
• Knowledge in sectors such as consumer, retail, diversified industrials, higher education and TMT would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties.
• Strong corporate credit skills to support review of credit papers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across levels.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients; coordinate origination across product suite and geographies.
• Develop understanding of clients’ industries and markets to inform dialogue and enhance problem solving.
• Analyse financial statements and cashflows to identify risk and opportunities.
• Lead pitch-book activities across products and mobilise SMEs for meetings.
• Ensure adherence to credit policies, financial crime and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Relationship Service Manager to complete administrative tasks.
• Prepare and present Credit and Capital Management submissions to stakeholders.
