Job summary

Allens, a leading Australian law firm, is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate in Banking & Finance focusing on Debt Capital Markets and Fund Finance. You will work with Partners across offices to handle complex transactions and develop a niche within the field.

This permanent, full-time role offers a hybrid working structure (about 60% in the office, 40% from home) and opportunities to work on a diverse range of client matters with international ties.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leading debt capital markets, derivatives or funds practice, with exposure to securities, structured transactions or funds management.
• Ability to support transactions effectively and manage competing priorities to progress matters.
• Confident working with partners, senior lawyers and clients as part of a broader team.
• Interest in developing a long‑term specialism across debt capital markets, fund finance or derivatives.
• Desire to learn, grow, and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Work on debt capital markets transactions, including issuance of securities and structured products.
• Handle fund finance matters across funds management platforms, including subscription and NAV facilities.
• Work on derivatives transactions, including equity, commodity, credit, and structured derivatives.
• Advise on regulatory changes impacting financial markets and transactions.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documentation, including derivatives and finance documents.
• Assist with general banking and finance arrangements such as acquisition, leverage, property, and project finance.
