Job summary

Credwell is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Associate Building Surveyor to join our consulting team in Sydney. You will lead complex projects, perform detailed inspections, and drive them from concept through to completion, influencing building compliance and performance across Australia.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of Building Surveying experience, strong knowledge of the BCA and Australian Standards, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the BCA, Building Regulations, and Australian Standards.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply the BCA, Building Regulations, and Australian Standards across projects.
• Conduct site inspections, access audits, fire safety assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Develop performance solutions, technical reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Lead projects from concept to completion, delivering on time and budget.
• Build client relationships through clear communication and proactive service.
• Mentor junior surveyors and consultants for technical growth.
• Support business development through proposal writing and fee estimates.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Building Regulations, and relevant Australian Standards across a variety of projects.
• Conduct site inspections, access audits, fire safety assessments, and compliance reviews for new and existing developments.
• Develop performance solutions, technical reports, and regulatory submissions that meet client and statutory requirements.
• Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
• Build strong client relationships through clear communication, expert advice, and proactive service.
• Mentor junior surveyors and consultants, fostering technical growth and professional development.
• Support business development through proposal writing, fee estimates, and identifying new opportunities.

About you

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Building Surveyor.
• Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of the BCA, Building Regulations, and Australian Standards.
• Proven ability to assess complex building proposals and deliver clear, actionable advice.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and project management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first mindset.
