Job summary

The Local Council in Sydney's South West is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to support the delivery of multiple projects under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Building Code of Australia.

The role is a 6-month contract with potential extension, offering a hands-on position in assessment, certification and stakeholder engagement, underpinned by strong knowledge of relevant legislation and WHS practices.

Qualifications

• Accredited minimum A2 or higher under the NSW BPB Accreditation Scheme.
• Strong knowledge of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia and related legislation.
• Strong knowledge of Work Health Safety practices, Equal Opportunity Employment, Ethical Practice & Multicultural Diversity.
• Qualifications in Building Surveying (or related).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and determining Construction, Occupation, Complying Development and Building Certificates.
• Assess and determining applications under Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1993.
• Reviewing processes and procedures to maintain a high level of customer service.
• Investigating and resolving community, stakeholder and consultants complaints on request regarding building issues.

This Local Council based in the Sydney's South West is currently seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to assist their team with the delivery of multiple projects. The role offers an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE.

To ensure that applications for Part 4A certificates and the PCA role under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 are assessed in accordance with the Building Code of Australia and the EP & A Act, within agreed time frames.

DUTIES.

• Assessing and determining Construction, Occupation, Complying Development and Building Certificates
• Assess and determining applications in accordance to Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1993
• Reviewing processes and procedures to maintain a high level of customer service
• Investigating and resolving community, stakeholder and consultants complaints on request, regarding a range of building issues

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
