Job summary

Western Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Alcohol & Other Drugs area to provide expert AOD assessment and leadership within the Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department. This part-time ongoing role will influence care across the AOD hub and related units.

The CNC will lead specialist teams, mentor staff, and drive quality improvements in alignment with best-practice AOD care and Victoria’s pharmacotherapy framework.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Completed, or working towards, a Masters in Nursing or postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty.
• Excellent clinical, communication, time-management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert AOD nursing assessment, care planning, interventions and clinical consultation within the Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department & AOD Hub.
• Provide leadership, specialist advice and clinical direction to multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond to referrals in a timely manner and support coordination of consumer care across services.
• Educate, mentor and support nursing and multidisciplinary staff to strengthen AOD knowledge and best practice.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, policy review, and service redesign initiatives.
