Job summary

Western Health’s Sunshine Hospital in Melbourne’s western suburbs seeks a part-time Clinical Nurse Consultant in Alcohol & Other Drugs. The CNC provides specialist AOD assessment, intervention and clinical advice within the Emergency Department and AOD hub, leading a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to education, service improvement and high-quality, person-centred care for people with high-prevalence AOD conditions and participate in quality initiatives across Western Health.

Qualifications

Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Masters in Nursing or postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty.
Excellent clinical, communication, time-management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide expert AOD nursing assessment, care planning, interventions and clinical consultation within the Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department and AOD Hub.
Provide leadership, specialist advice and clinical direction to multidisciplinary teams.
Respond to referrals promptly, prioritise care needs and coordinate consumer care across acute and community services.
Educate, mentor and support nursing and multidisciplinary staff on AOD knowledge and best practice.
Lead and contribute to quality improvement, policy review, research and service redesign initiatives.
