Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney is seeking experienced Lead or Senior Analysts to support the Financial Stability Department and contribute to the resilience of Australia’s financial system. You will work closely with your manager to shape work programs, lead projects, and coach junior staff.

The role combines analysis of systemic risks with turbulence from climate-related impacts, offering exposure to regulators and public-sector colleagues.

Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and an aptitude for handling data.
• High standards in the production of written analysis.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, to drive timely delivery and collaboration on projects.
• An interest in developing leadership skills would be valued.
• Knowledge of how financial institutions operate and prudential regulation is desirable, but not a prerequisite for the role.
• Hold a degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field, with a strong foundation in economic and/or financial principles.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing systemic risks and vulnerabilities.
• Developing recommendations based on analysis related to the resilience of financial institutions and preparations for crisis conditions.
• Preparing briefing materials and analysis for the Reserve Bank’s senior executives.
• Analysing the links between different parts of the financial system.
